READER ENGAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY FOR PUBLISHING

The digital extension of the book that brings readers back into the story

When readers lose the thread, Fabulè reminds them of what they have already read, without revealing what they have yet to discover. Under your brand, on your catalogue, without ever handing over the text.

AI not in place of reading, but in service of it.

LOST CONTEXT

After a break, readers remember the plot but not the detail they need

Who was that minor character? How are they related to the protagonist? The richer the narrative, as in sagas, ensemble novels or thrillers, the more vital it becomes to recover context. Today readers have two options. Neither works for the publisher, and the result is often an abandoned book.

Searching the text by hand: frustration and lost immersion.

Search online

Uncalibrated summaries and surprises ruined by spoilers.

But there is another, more effective way, one that reconnects readers with the book and with the desire to keep reading

Ask the story

The Fabulè method: recover context and stop exactly at the point reached.

HOW IT WORKS

Four steps, no app to download

  1. Open book, the starting point for resolving a question that arises while reading

    The book

The reader hits a question while reading, in print or digital.

  2. Illustrated QR code for opening the assistant from the book

    The QR code

Printed in the book, it opens the assistant right in the browser.

  3. Open book with the last words highlighted to sync the assistant with the reader’s progress

    The reading point

The reader types the last 4–5 words read to sync the assistant.

  4. Fabulè wordmark with a winged book, the assistant for spoiler-free answers

    The safe answer

Fabulè answers using only what the reader has already read.

SYNCHRONISED READING POINT

An AI that only knows the narrative state the reader has reached

Characters and places rise from the pages already read; a padlock keeps the rest of the book closed

Active memory

The authorised perimeter. Events, characters, relationships and context already read: the only basis Fabulè can answer from.

Narrative future

The locked area. Later chapters are excluded from retrieval and from the answer: the system cannot anticipate what the reader has yet to discover.

The science behind Fabulè

The design draws on reading research: event segmentation, situation models and narrative transportation. We are building a proprietary recap integrity benchmark. Read the science page.

WHAT PUBLISHERS GET

A digital extension of your publishing brand

White-label experience

Domain, logo and visual identity are yours. Fabulè is the silent engine underneath.

A direct relationship with readers

The QR builds a bridge between publisher and reader for the whole read, well after the purchase.

Protected catalogues

Each publisher's content and data are isolated, separate assets.

READING INTELLIGENCE

Hear where the story calls for context

Aggregated, anonymous questions show how readers move through the book: which relationships, timelines or characters need the most guidance. Not a literary judgement, but a map of how readers engage with the text.

  • “Who was the Duke?”
  • “How are these two related?”
  • “Why are they here?”

OUR IRONCLAD COMMITMENT

Your catalogue stays yours. Always

Text never handed over

The EPUB is used only to configure the assistant. Readers never receive it, in whole or in part.

No training, your choice of model

Your content trains no model. Fabulè is model-agnostic: it connects to the AI provider you choose.

Privacy and GDPR

Data minimisation. Analytics only in aggregated, anonymous form. Data is hosted in the region you choose.

Deletion at end of contract

When the partnership ends, all content provided is fully deleted.

Padlocked chest symbolising protection of the publisher’s texts and rights

Elaborate worlds, dozens of characters, long reading times.

Historical and ensemble novels

Family factions, time jumps, complex narrative structures.

Magnifying glass, clues and a shadowy figure above a book evoke mysteries to piece together

Intricate thrillers

Plenty of details to remember, without spoiling the final mystery.

WHAT WE MEASURE

Reader data nobody gives you today

Every question a reader asks Fabulè is a signal. During the pilot we collect those signals and turn them into four metrics that sales charts can't show you: who was about to abandon the book, at what point, why, and what brought them back to it.

Reader Re-entry Rate

How many stalled readers pick the book back up after using Fabulè.

Why it mattersMeasures the direct effect on finishing the book, the precondition for selling the next volume.

Narrative Recap Integrity

Recap accuracy and absence of spoilers.

Why it mattersGives you proof that the assistant respects the work, the author and the reader's experience.

Reading Intelligence

Where and why readers ask for context: characters, plotlines, places.

Why it mattersReveals where the book loses readers: useful for editing, reprints, marketing and companion material.

Catalog Fit Score

Which titles and series benefit most from the service.

Why it mattersShows you where it pays to extend Fabulè across the rest of your catalogue.

FAQ

What publishers ask us

Can readers read the book on Fabulè?

No. In the publisher version Fabulè only answers questions: the text is never shown or delivered to the reader. The book stays at the centre of the experience.

Do you use our books to train AI?

No. Content is used only to configure each title's assistant and never enters any training dataset. Fabulè is model-agnostic: it connects to the AI provider you prefer, and you also choose the region where data is hosted.

How does Fabulè avoid spoilers?

The reader enters the last words read. Everything written after that is excluded from retrieval and from the answer: the system has no access to the narrative future.

Do readers need to download an app?

No. The QR opens the assistant in the phone's browser, under the publisher's brand.

How much does the pilot cost?

The pilot runs for six months, covers up to 5 titles and costs €200 per title, with up to 500 readers per title. It lets you test the service on your catalogue with real readers and decide, with data in hand, how to extend it. At the end of the pilot, we can agree on a tailored offer to extend the service to your catalogue.
